V&A EAST MUSUEM SHOPS, LONDON
The new V&A East Musuem opened as part of of the Mayor of London’s £1.1bn cultural and educational East Bank development.
Alongside the gallery spaces and public realm areas of the new building Studio ZNA designed and commissioned the lighting of the main shop and temporary exhibition shop. High level spotlights utilised the existing track layouts creating general circulation, key task lighting and accents to 2D wall displays.
Integrated linear LEDS within the bespoke joinery illuminated viewports, uniformly lighting the varying product types. The aesthetic approach is consistent across the different shops, located on the first and third floor. Wireless lighting control allows event, workshop and nighttime scenes to be set creating ambient levels and additional flexibility to the spaces.
