We use lighting as a narrative tool, shaping how a space is experienced over time. By considering mood, season, colour, texture, and function, we choreograph light to create purposeful zones, especially in open-plan environments. This enhances the space’s multiple uses, encouraging both quiet reflection and open dialogue. Light becomes an emotional and functional guide for the occupant’s journey
COLLABORATIVE
Our practice is rooted in collaboration, thriving within creative teams where dialogue with clients, architects, designers, and others shapes a cohesive visual language. Design is not just technical but a shared, people-led process where listening reveals deeper narrative potential. We see lighting as a poetic, participatory medium—an artform that subtly shapes experience.
OUR PROCESS
We see light as a narrative tool, unveiling the story and function of a space and supporting its occupants and activities.
Our strength lies in communicating effectively the emotive, performative, functional and theatrical role of designed light, artificial and natural within any built environment, be that public realm, commercial or private spaces. The conceptual communication is then delivered rigorously at each design stage including the final commissioning expertise on site to the highest standard.
We follow the RIBA design stages 1-6 and will issue design reports at the end of each stage to the client and all members of the team for review and approval before proceeding to the next work stage. Any actions and revisions will be agreed and acted upon expediently.
HANDS ON
We are a small, hands-on practice by choice, ensuring clients work directly with the team delivering the project. Our approach fosters trusted relationships, clear communication, and consistent engagement across all stages—from creative concept to technical delivery. Through mockups and collaboration with all parties, we make the intangible nature of light tangible, consistently exceeding expectations.
INNOVATIVE
This is an exciting time in lighting design, with refined LED technologies allowing for high-quality light from discreet sources and greater interplay with materials rather than fittings. Our experience across museums, commercial spaces, and events informs our focus on flexibility, colour quality, and intelligent, user-friendly controls that enable dynamic, multifunctional environments. We design holistic systems that subtly shift with time of day, enhancing human comfort and rhythm—particularly effective in public realm settings.
HUMAN
