CLEVELAND HOUSE, LONDON

Cleveland House, a six-storey building in London’s West End, is home to Rolex and other prestigious companies. The project focused on remodelling 4,000 sq. ft. of vacant space on the lower ground floor into a high-quality office environment. With limited natural light due to a narrow, eight-storey atrium, the lighting design was carefully developed to enhance the comfort of the occupants.

The high ceilings of the lower ground floor allowed for the design of "laylight windows," inspired by industrial-style high-bay windows, along the open-plan office wall. Custom-made lightboxes with acrylic diffusers and metal grid frames were used, employing high-output dynamic white LEDs. These LEDs were programmed to vary in colour temperature throughout the day, with cooler tones in the morning and warmer tones in the afternoon. This approach helps occupants maintain a connection to natural daylight, reducing discomfort and fatigue while allowing them to choose their preferred working environment. Close collaboration with the architects and design team was essential to ensure the lighting integrated seamlessly, creating a natural and cohesive result.
